I just put my initials on about 300 pages of AIA (American Institute of Architects) contract documents.  This document was prepared by our wonderful architect, Dana Bixby, and details everything from the Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) to the type of soil.  Our design team, Greylock Design, Foresight Engineering, and Dana Bixby Architecture, along with our general contractor, Ziter Saloomey, have been working diligently to gather all the correct specifications.

So today, Ziter and I initialed each page and signed on the dotted line.  The last stop is the USDA … yes, the United States Department of Agriculture is providing funding and a guarantee. The USDA has already approved the contract, but now we need the official signatures.

This contract is the last, and some would say most important, piece before we seal the deal with the bank on Thursday.  More to come…
