The foundation trenches have been cleared of the necessary ledge and are being prepared to receive the concrete.  A maze of rebar and wood now lie where soil and rock once were.  The rebar, or reinforcing bar, is a common steel bar, and is commonly used in reinforced concrete and reinforced masonry structures. It is usually formed from carbon steel and is given ridges for better mechanical anchoring into the concrete.  This particular rebar even contains some recycled content.  The wood is arranged in order to help form the concrete when it is poured in.  We expect that the concrete will be poured next week, after the blasting happens.
